Youth Trap Shooting Program

The Sparta Rod & Gun Club Youth Shooting Program begins on May 7, 2014.  Registration is April 23d from 5 to 6 pm in the lower club house.  Participants are limited to youths 12 to 17 in age who have completed the Hunter Safety program. 

The shooting program lasts for 5 weeks and the cost is $15.00 per shooter for the program.

Trap Shooting & Sporting Clays Seasons Open April 1, 2014

The 2014 Trap and Sporting Clays 2014 season is scheduled to open on April 1st.  Here's to another successful shotgun sports season.

Sporting Clays and Trap Shooting Ends October 15, 2013

October 15th is the last day for shooting either Sporting Clays or Trap at the Club.  This has been a very successful season for both shooting disciplines and special thanks go to all those who made this success possible. 

We expect to reopen both Sporting Clays and Trap shooting the first Tuesday in April 2014.  Hope to see you there.   

100 Bird Trap Shoot and Sporting Clays Fundraiser

The club had a successful Trap and Sporting Clays 100 Bird Shoot on August 25 and 26, 2012.  The event included a 100 Bird Trap shoot on Saturday and Doubles Trap shoot on Sunday.  Sporting Clays conducted a 100 bird course on both Saturday and Sunday. 

Approximately 60 shooters participated in the weekend's activities.  A special thanks go out to all of the volunteers who made this shoot a success.  

Club Fundraiser

The fund raiser conducted in August 2011 was successful.  The club hosted a 100 bird shoot for both Trap and Sporting Clays. 

We also hosted youth fishing in the club pond, and several children were successful in catching fish. 

Club Fundraiser Shoot

The Sparta Rod & Gun Club will conduct a fundraiser shoot on August 27-28, 2011 at the club grounds. Activities will include 100 bird Individual Open Trap Shoot and Sporting Clays 100 bird Shoot on Saturday.  On Sunday activities include 2 Person Team Trap Shoot, with open shooting after the team shoot is completed, and 100 bird Sporting Clays Course. The club will also host youth events which include fishing in the Trout Pond for children 12 and under, and a Youth Bow Shoot (16 yrs and under). The Black River Bass Masters will sponsor the fishing activity. Food will also be served in the Trap Building and will include Brats, Hot Dogs, and BBQ.
